A LONESOME EVENING
Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, the day after Election Day from 6-8pm, we will present A LONESOME EVENING2 at the historic Jefferson Market branch of the NYPL, featuring Jennifer Muir, a sound healer and death care worker, memoirist Lizzie Simon, poets Ilka Scobie, Hunter Hodkinson and Mo David, hosted by Monique Erickson.
LONESOME came to me in January: an impulse, a necessity, a need a birthday gift from the other side the underside, the underneath. We are a gathering point a fulcrum, a hand that feeds what a poet will tell you, what the old friend sees. We are wildflowers on the highway getting lost among the weeds. What magic have we mustered from what brought us to our knees?
There will be more. Today this is all that I can muster. Tomorrow, let’s imagine a future together. See you there.
